Hydrogen Update: Now with 5 new colour schemes!

We know that sometimes the default Hydrogen colour scheme just doesn't fit with the rest of your brand. Previously, the only way to customise the look and feel of your Hydrogen account was by upgrading to the Pro plan. We didn't think this was fair so, as part of our committment to all our customers, we have added the ability to theme your Hydrogen account with 5 new colour schemes, no CSS required.

It's extremely easy to choose your new colour scheme, simply go Admin > Look & Feel > Colour Scheme. When you click on each color scheme swatch you will be treated to a live preview of the scheme, if you have JavaScript enabled. Don't forget to click "Save Changes" when you're done.

We've just pushed out our first major Hydrogen update. The Knowledge Base has a brand new look and admin section; we've improved our text support and formatting with Redflex Flavoured Markdown; and added support for Campfire.

Knowledge Base

The current iteration of the Knowledge Base is a major improvement of the previous version, we've now got full support for the creation, modification and deletion of both articles and categories.

You may also notice that there is now a new "Contents" widget on some articles. This is automatically generated from the article contents, so there's no need to worry about learning another feature.

Redflex Flavoured Markdown

Redflex Flavoured Markdown is our custom extension of the Markdown language where we've enhanced the existing code support and added support for definition lists, page anchors and more.

Campfire Support

At Redflex we're great fans of the 37signals ideaology and software. Therefore, it made sense for us to add support for Campfire, their chat application. Once you've set up the service hook, we push all new topics into your chatroom for instant notification.


Hydrogen API and Knowledge Base

There have been quite a few updates to Hydrogen this week: the general look and feel has been updated; the API is now in public beta; you can also now opt in to add other beta features to your Hydrogen account, the first of which is a customer knowledge base.

Introducing Hydrogen

We're really excited to annouce our newest product, Hydrogen. So what exactly is it? Hydrogen is what we like to call a "support-centric discussion area", it is a place where you and your customers can submit any problems, questions or ideas that they may have.

We built Hydrogen for two reasons, speed and simplicity, as all the other help desk / support applications available are either too bloated or too complicated to use. Customer support should be easy, with the minimum of padding between you and your customers.
