Hydrogen API and Knowledge Base

There have been quite a few updates to Hydrogen this week: the general look and feel has been updated; the API is now in public beta; you can also now opt in to add other beta features to your Hydrogen account, the first of which is a customer knowledge base.

Hydrogen API

The API is now in public beta. It is an excellent way to add Hydrogen support to your existing applications with the minimum of fuss. To ease your way into the API we've added some introductory documentation, which already includes methods to manage your topics and comments, to the Redflex knowledge base.

We have also written Ruby and PHP 5 client libraries, both of which are licensed under the MIT license. They are available on our GitHub account ready for you to fork, contribute to and improve.

Knowledge Base

You can now add a Knowledge Base (also in public beta) to your Hydrogen account. Basically, it is a place where you can add all your product documentation, frequently asked questions and more. To help you organise your articles there is the ability to add them to their own category. We're already using it on our Hydrogen account, go on, have a look.

If you want to add the Knowledge Base to your account you'll need to 'enable beta features', this option is in the 'Hydrogen Settings' section of your admin panel.
